Tuesday, October 31, 2000: We successfully avoid Halloween
The alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Ouch! But we actually rousted ourselves out of bed and were able to get into the water for a dawn patrol surf session by 5:30. It was pretty decent, nothing spectacular...but it really was amazing to watch the sun rise as we sat in the water, bobbing on our boards.
We rented a movie at Iguana Surf Shop ("G.I. Jane") and stopped by the little grocery store on the way home. We cooked up homemade quesadillas for dinner (tasty), watched the movie, and called it an early night. Which was actually difficult, because, being Halloween, our hotel was throwing a raging bash. A (bad) band was playing right beneath our balcony, and we could hear the drunken revelry well into the night. Dave thanked his lucky stars that I didn't force him to put on a costume. |

Scarfed breakfast back at the hotel, spent a little time flailed out napping (to make up for our early start), and then spent the rest of the day wandering around town, doing a little shopping and stopping by the Internet cafe to check (and send) a few e-mails.
